Safe Streets Pop-Up Event

Join us on October 7th from 1pm to 4pm!

Join us for a pop-up event in the Woodland Heights Neighborhood (see below for map and location) to demonstrate how temporary changes to a section of the roadway can make our streets safer and more accessible for everyone. This is part of our Safe Streets for All plan, aimed at improving street safety and walkability in the Community. Attendees can see these concepts firsthand and provide valuable feedback.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The event will feature temporary street transformations designed to showcase how certain safety improvements, such as traffic calming measures and improved pedestrian access, can enhance the community. Attendees are invited to walk through the demonstration area, engage with the project team, and provide feedback on the proposed ideas.

FOOD & AMENITIES

Enjoy delicious tacos from the "I Love Tacos" food truck, which will be on-site during the event. Seating and rest areas will also be available.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Community members are encouraged to explore the demonstration area and offer their input on the temporary safety improvements. We'll have opportunities for feedback, and attendees can share their thoughts on how to improve safety and accessibility for all street users.

WHY IT MATTERS

Creating safer streets is vital for everyone—whether you walk, bike, drive, or use public transportation. This event gives our community a chance to see potential improvements in action and provide input to shape the future of street safety in Springfield.
